PSALM 23

1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. Rev. 7.17 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Achieving life balance and wealth are two things that most people wish to accomplish early in life. If you are one of these people and you wish to achieve both, there are several simple steps you can take to help you reach that goal.

Know Yourself and Listen to Your Ideas

In order to achieve both life balance and wealth, you need to first understand how your mind operates and you must learn to trust in your ideas and instincts. Most likely, you have a great idea somewhere in your mind that is just aching to break out. But, if you don’t learn how to tap into your ideas and put them into action, you will never achieve the life balance and wealth you wish to achieve.

First, pay attention to yourself in order to understand when and where you come up with your best ideas. Do your best ideas come to you while you are taking a shower? How about right before you fall asleep in bed? Or, perhaps great ideas come to you as you watch television and ask yourself, “What makes this person or this product successful?”

By understanding how your mind works and where your best ideas are born, you will be more likely to put yourself in that environment in order to generate new ideas. Of course, it doesn’t matter how many ideas you come up with if you don’t follow through with them! So, listen to your gut. If you come up with an idea that you think is great, set it into action. That idea just might be your key to achieving both life balance and wealth.

Visualize Your Future

You may have heard of coaches saying, “You always win the game before the game.” This saying is true in all aspects of life – if you first visualize yourself achieving life balance and wealth, you will soon find that it will materialize. Imagine how others will look at you once you have achieved life balance and wealth. Visualize how your goal will be achieved. Envision how this achievement will affect the lives of those around you. “Seeing” your goal before it happens will take you further than you may realize.

To aid you in visualizing your future, try keeping a journal. Write all of your dreams and goals in this journal. Create “to do” lists within your journal and actually script out your life and what you want to achieve. Each of these steps will help make your goal much clearer, as well as the steps you need to take in order to get there.

Surround Yourself with Doers

By choosing to spend time with people that have achieved wealth and life balance, you can learn how to reach these same goals. Watch and learn from those around you. Learn what you like most about these people and what has made them successful. Then, model your own life after them. By surrounding yourself with people that are doing better than you, you will work harder to achieve the same lifestyle.

You should also look into joining groups or organizations comprised of people that is interested in the same ideas you have come up with. In this way, you can learn from each other and get help in making decisions. In addition, you can learn from their successes and failures in order to help you build your future without making the same mistakes.

By knowing yourself, listening to your gut, visualizing your future, and surrounding yourself with people that take action, you will soon find yourself achieving the wealth and life balance you have long dreamed of.

10 WAYS TO HAVE A GREAT DAY !

Posted on March 31, 2011 at 1:48 PM Comments comments (0)

1.  Wake up 30 Minutes Early.

Get up 30 minutes before the alarm goes off and take the first half hour for yourself. Once you get busy and into the day there never seems to be the time for yourself. Take this time to plan getting the most from the day.

2.  Read, Listen, or Watch Something Uplifting.

Make this a daily habit. Get out of starting the day with no mental food. A great day does not begin with the news or the paper, it begins with ideas or energy that will propel you through the day. What you first hear will stay with you throughout the day.

3.  Eat a Good Breakfast to Start You Off Right.

Get something good into your body to wake it up and get it going. Think about the energy you will need to perform. Everyday we run a marathon. What would you need to eat and drink to win it.

4.  Choose Your Winning Attitude.

There is enough to go wrong without sabotaging yourself. Your attitude is a choice you make. Don't let it come between you and your success. Be careful to keep it positive all day long.

5.  Be Aware of What They are Telling You.

The people around us have a profound effect on how we get through life. Our closest friends and family are our greatest environmental influences. Make sure you have the best advisors you can find.

6.  Make the Most of What You Do.

When you get to your work, make it the best place to be. Most people go to work and never think about work while they are there. Focus on your contribution. What would it be like if you were not around. Strive to give a 100% each and every day.

7.  Always Remember that People are Listening.

Make a point of talking well of others. Wish others the best in life. What goes around does come around. Don't talk negative about anyone. Try to understand their circumstances Practice being a support system to your friends and family. They need you.

8.  Be Honest and Fair to Others.

It does make a difference. What you give to others is usually what you get from others. Practice integrity that people can see and feel. Be aware of what you say. Learn to walk your talk at all times. The more people trust you, the more of their time they will trust with you.

9.  Pace Your Energy to Last All Day.

Be careful of bursts of energy. Pace your energy throughout the day. If you get to crazy early in the day, you will reach a point of exhaustion before the day is over. By planning your entire day before you begin, you will have what you need. You've heard the old saying "look alive."

10.  Get in Bed Early and Study for the Future.

I have a friend who keeps a journal at his bedside. Every night he writes what he learned new on that day. The only way to keep one step above the masses is to learn new ways to do things. Develop the habit of reading a work or personal development book before you go to sleep. Reading for 30 minutes a day is like a year of college. You can't succeed if you don't read. Remember throughout your day that life is what we make it, day by day. Practice having the best day ever. It adds up to a great life.

OCHUN

Posted on March 9, 2011 at 2:26 PM Comments comments (1)

Oshun is the orisha of love and happiness. She is the one that makes the spirit full of life and love. Oshun also known as Ochun, Iyalorde, and Oxum is also known for her aide in maternity alongside with her sister Yemaya. Oshun is seen as a fair skin bronzed color woman who has a body and a smile to die for. Oshun is always seen with her revealing dresses and cocky and flirtatious ways. In the house of the priest or priestess she lives in a yellow or gold looking tureen where her secrets are kept. Her metal is of gold and she is adorned with lots of it. She is one of the happiest orishas as that is one of the attributes that she beholds. She loves the finest things in life and sometimes she is never satisfied. Oshun had many relationships with the male orishas. These included from Chango, Orula, Ogun, Inle, Agallu and Asojano (San Lazaro). With her sensual and sexual ways, Oshun would conquer any man or obstacle that laid in her way. This orisha is not or was not a whore, it is that Oshun loved to take what she wanted and if by having a relationship with a man was one of them, then she would get what she wanted. Oshun is the owner of the sweet river waters in which her sister Yemaya gave to her. She was watched over by the mighty orisha Nana Buruku when she was young. She shared a close connection with Ochanla and she was very close to Olofi. Her father is the great Obatala. He raised her since she was a little girl. One small pataki I’m going to tell you is that one day Obatala would always sing a particular song to his little girl Oshun. Day and night he would sing her this song and one day Oshun left the house and never returned. Years passed along and the great Obatala who was still depressed about the lost of his daughter Oshun, was walking through the woods near the riverbank. He was walking and he overheard a voice singing this particular song that brought memories back to him. Obatala said that there was only one person who knew that song and it was his daughter Oshun. He glimpsed by the river water and saw a young beautiful woman singing “Sawani Ibo Eleri, Leriche Oka Di Pola” (ceremonial song) and he walked up to her and asked her where did she hear that song. Oshun told him that when she was young, her father would sing that song to her everyday and every night. Obatala with a tear told Oshun that he was Obatala, her father, the same orisha that taught her that song. They both hugged and cried and were never separated there after. Oshun’s color is yellow now and when I say now I mean that is the color that represents her in this time life. When Oshun was first born she had on a white dress. This was the only dress that Oshun had and owned. But everyday Oshun would go to the river and wash her only white dress. After a while Oshun noticed that her white dress was starting to fade into a bright yellow. Oshun was amazed and happy that she had a yellow dress because none of the adult orishas owned or had anything with the color yellow. From that day forward, yellow became the primary color to the orisha Oshun. AGOLAROYE.COM

One day Echu began a journey wearing a hat, red on one side, white on the other. Making not a sound he walked between two friends, one seeing the white side of his hat, the other seeing the red. Later in the day the two friends spoke to one another about the mysterious man in the hat. Immediately, they began to argue about the color of the hat. White! Red! The quarreling turned to blows, as each man professed to know the right answer and demanded to be acknowledged as the victor in the violent discussion. The Trickster Eshu chuckled at the sight and walked over to the men, now bloodied and angry, and showed them his hat - red on one side and white on the other. He was delighted by the fact they would fight about something as ridiculous as the color of another mans hat, ruining their long-standing friendship in the process. Taking pleasure in testing the strengths and weaknesses of mankind, he provides the lesson of making the right choices in life. He is found at the crossroads, can see in all directions, watchs what people do, good and bad. His punishment is swift but he is also kind. Eshu sits at the threshold to your home, guarding the entry.
